I Tried Extensions That Are Invisible on My Hairline: Combline | Hair Me Out | Refinery29

This week on Hair Me Out, we follow stylist Sam (@xsamhair) as she gives her client Combline extensions. When Sam first heard about Combline two years ago, she thought it was a gimmick. How could extensions be glued to the hair without damage and in a way that looks natural? But, after talking with other stylists and seeing the Combline process in action herself, she knew it was revolutionary and was going to be the next trend in extensions. She took the Combline course and is now a teacher in the method.

Sam will be using Combline extensions on her client who has thinning hair. Combline extensions are best used around the hair line, part, and in bangs because they blend so seamlessly with hair. Combline extensions glue individual hairs to the client’s own hair. The extensions shed overtime like natural hair does. It is recommended to get a touch up every 4 weeks and fully redo the extensions every six months. Because Combline extensions are more expensive, Sam typically uses another method of extensions for the underlayer of hair and saves Combline for the part and hairline.

I wonder how much this is

  • @MrSincerity88 says:

Something about it looks really wiggy. Kind of like a frontal sliding too close to the front. Maybe it’s just the clients natural hairline

  • @karyannfontaine8757 says:

What happens when you wash your hair? I always keep my hair clean and conditioned. Are eyelash extension applied the same way?

    • @littlebigkicker says:

U do have to keep it brused cause it can get knots in them but u can wash them just like normal

  • @tonkabear2369 says:

    It looks so obvious.

  • @Smittenhamster says:

I wonder how anyone can judge the before and after – I watch on mobile and at this point the recs for next Videos come in. Super annoying 🤨

  • @jemmaj2919 says:

I think for many ppl with thinning temples this is an ideal solution. My hair is way too thin and extensions need to be pushed back. Also being able to still have an updo without worrying about things showing is great

  • @isabeldallal2987 says:

What about bleaching? If your a blonde how do you time bleaching your hair with this extension method? Can you bleach it with these in the hair? Also what about brushing the hair? Do these snag?
