I Got a Medical Pedicure to Treat My Toenail Fungus | Macro Beauty | Refinery29
This week on Macro Beauty, podiatrist Dr. Rilling (Los Feliz Foot and Ankle) shares about medical pedicures and his technician performs a pedicure on patient Mary.
Dr. Rilling is one of the few foot and ankle doctors in Los Angeles to offer a medical pedicure service. Mary has nail fungus on multiple toes, dry cracked heels, and has never tried a medical pedicure before. Mary also has two plantar warts that Dr. Rilling removes in a treatment separate from the medical pedicure.

I need this
I’m a licensed manicurist of 33 years but been retired and I’m looking to come back in my field however I’ve not found no training for the medical manicure where would one see training cosmetology school does not teach this โผ๏ธโ๏ธ๐ฅโ๏ธ๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐จ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ they do not teach this they teach regular pedicures that I’m not interested in. What medical I might think about it.
Have you checked out the meticulous manicurist YouTube channel? She does preventative pedicures (not medical).
I believe you get this done at the podiatrist and their assistance doing the spa aspect. I hope this helped!
My dyslexia read it as Iโm a licensed murder ๐
@@b.c.9358I gotta say even though Iโm not the original commenter still thank you for sharing this bc I checked out the channel you recommended and as someone with eczema who is also a freelance laborer I couldnโt thank you enough lmao my hands and everything have been fucked for a while now from my work ๐ ๐
I had this, but my foot doctor advised I take specific pills to tackle the toe fungus from the inside. I guess this is a more advanced faster way to get rid of toe fungus
The medi-pedi is meant to help maintain your foot hygiene as you are getting treated with medication like lamisil or fluconazole that is prescribed by your doctor. Fungus is difficult to get rid of, it takes time so the medi-pedis help keep your feet clean and maintained throughout your treatment ๐
Its the only way because it grows within, sure you can go to pedicure to make the toe look pretty while your taking the fungus killer tablets.
Laser therapy is the best option and you don’t always need to take oral medication. Terbinafine is really hard on the liver and isn’t always an option for everyone. Laser can treat the actual fungus too, but it takes time and is fairly expensive.
@@thom_cat8883 yes that is true. My doctor has me on Terbinafine and she wanted to see how body reacted to it first before keeping me on it for two cycles. Luckily most of my foot fungus has gone away. But foot hygiene like this helps maintain and keep away fungus.
@@rosaurauriarte8995 very true!
Iโm so grateful that Iโm healthy
She has fungus in between the toes and should treat that with a spray or a prescription cream or spray. To handle the whole issue or else it will spread back to the toenails.
I feel like this series is the evolution of Beauty with Mi. Thanks, YT algorithm!
I had these regularly back a few years ago! I was so excited and people couldn’t understand, but I was finally taking care of myself. I had this done in the UK (no lasers) and it was about ยฃ40GBP or $51USD
